Vermilion Men's Basketball

ANDERSON AND MEWS GET FULL RIDE SCHOLARSHIPS
Two Vermilion Ironmen Basketball squad members have signed letters of intent to continue their basketball careers next season. The Ironmen finished the season with a 21-9 record and advanced to the Final Four in Region 13.
Anthony “Poolu” Anderson has signed with the University of Charleston in West Virginia and will be an impact player next year. Anderson averaged over 24 ppg, 7 apg, 9 rpg and 5 spg while earning All Conference, All State, All Region and All American honors. Anderson is a native of Cleveland, OH.
Joe Mews has signed with Peru State in Peru, NE. Coach Dave Walker is very excited to get a player who has great ability and can shoot the ball. Joe averaged over 18 ppg and hit over 100 three pointers for the Ironmen. Joe was named All Conference and All State this season and is a native of Faribault, MN.
The Ironmen have a record of 158-50 the past seven seasons and have sent numerous players on to four year schools with full scholarships, including 6 Division I players. Many others have received scholarships at the Division II and NAIA levels. Our style of play is very exciting. We have ranked in the top 5 in the nation in scoring the past seven years and love to press and run the floor. If you are looking for a school that consistently places people in four year programs and plays an exciting style, Vermilion is for you. If you want to compete every day at a very high level this program is for you. Please contact Coach McDonald at 1-800-657-3608 or email him at p.mcdonald@vcc.edu if you have an interest in Vermilion Community College.
